Don has been consulting on Epicor products since 1996 and is currently implementing and supporting Epicor 10, Epicor 9, and Vantage 8. He has implemented Epicor solutions at companies in varying industries with a broad mix of business practices. His approach to implementation is to define a company’s critical business needs and focus key resources to meet those needs on time and on budget. Don is an advocate of client ownership during the implementation which is the key to success.
Don specializes in the manufacturing, planning and engineering disciplines within Epicor. He has experience in manufacturing environments that practice quick cycle repetitive manufacturing as well as discrete jobs manufacturing utilizing lean and/or MRP II methodologies. He is also an expert and has extensive experience in the implementation of product configurators. Other skills include sales management, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, quality, data conversion, queries and upgrade processes.
As an accomplished business process consultant, Don frequently consults with new and existing clients to analyze and improve business processes as it relates to Epicor manufacturing solutions. Some of these projects included MRP utilization resulting in lower inventories and increased customer service. Streamlining of quote, order and demand management processes. Building configurators as a tool for part number creation and management. Job management workflow improvements. Restructuring bills of materials, operations and resources.
With over 15 years of manufacturing and engineering experience prior to consulting, Don’s real world background has proven to be a valuable fit for ERP implementations.
Don has worked with over 100 Epicor clients and has lead about a dozen implementations. These clients were in varying industries such as: office seating, gaming equipment, medical devices, aerospace components, furniture, cabinets, high tech electronics, machinery, sporting goods, capital equipment, luxury motor coaches, signs, printing and more.
Most environments were make- to-stock, make-to-order and engineer-to-order and some were mixed mode. Operations included multi company and multi plant scenarios.
